This morning I oversaw installation of two large boulders that will be part of the new plaza currently under construction in front of the Earth and Ocean Sciences Building (EOS) and the new Earth Systems Building (ESB). Big!
Students and faculty in the School of Population make great use of the large harvest table that was constructed on the "porch" of their new building entrance on East Mall. The table was fabricated from milled timber sourced from a fallen tree.
Great to see the pavilion and Rhodies at Buchanan Courtyard serving as a backdrop for grad photos. Good luck Class of 2012!
The world-wide decline in honey bee populations has become a matter of great concern. In response, one of our gardeners - Gregg Doughty - has initiated a project that improves habitat, and provides students, faculty and staff with the opportunity to learn about our native pollinators. You can see these in the landscape surrounding the Scarfe Building landscape.
The Mall is now fenced off and construction has begun on renovation of our most iconic landscape. When you return in September, this piece of landscape work - and Memorial Road! And University Boulevard! And a new fountain at the intersection of Main Mall and University Boulevard - will be complete!
