"Home For Good" dialogue featuring Scot Hein
Scot Hein, Urban Designer at Campus + Community Planning, will be one of several speakers at “Home for Good,” a Tyee dialogue series on the housing crisis in Vancouver. The talk includes perspectives from renters and experts in the field and aims to discuss solutions towards housing security. Learn more about the dialogue series here.

SEEDS Sustainability program earns recognition in ISCN report
The SEEDS Sustainability program earned recognition in the International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) best practices report in January 2017.
The report features 30 case studies of universities promoting sustainability in their education, and SEEDS was highlighted for engaging UBC students in sustainability-focused research projects. With the ISCN conference taking place at UBC in June 2017, this recognition is especially significant in furthering UBC's leadership in sustainability and education.
Pedestrian route changes in U Boulevard area
Pedestrian access is now closed off between the AMS Nest, New UBC Aquatic Centre and War Memorial Gym due to ongoing construction at the UBC Bus Exchange, renovation of the Old SUB and demolition of the old UBC Aquatic Centre. This is part of UBC’s commitment to create an outstanding academic experience supported by a complete community where people can live, work, learn and play on its Vancouver Campus
UBC Sustainability Scholars now accepting applications
The UBC Sustainability Scholars program is now accepting applications from UBC graduate students.
Successful candidates will be given the opportunity to work in a sustainability-funded internship with a partner organization. Each Scholar receives $20 per hour to complete up to 250 hours of work, along with an immersion of real world learning and advancing sustainability goals! Internship projects will commence May 1, 2017.

Defeat Depression Run & UBC REC Triathlon/Duathlon
Spend a weekend or two getting active at UBC! On Saturday, March 4 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, join the Defeat Depression Run on campus and help raise awareness on mental health. This annual event will also be a fundraiser for the Mood Disorders Society of Canada and the Mental Health Awareness Club. Learn more.
