The UBC Development Permit Board meeting for October 14, 2020 is scheduled to review DP20022 BCR9 Faculty & Staff Housing and DP07010 Amendment 3 Nobel Park Softball Field Upgrades.
UBC’s youngest residents were excited to see the doors open to the Wesbrook YMCA Child Care Centre on September 1, 2020. Located next to the Wesbrook Community Centre on the south end of the UBC Vancouver campus, it is UBC’s greenest child care yet.
“We are really thrilled with this new building, and the parents and children who’ve visited have been very excited,” said Kim Adamson, General Manager of Child Care Development for the YMCA of Greater Vancouver.
For the past six summers, Chef Challenge has been a hallmark event on the UBC Vancouver campus, bringing the community together for an outside party to celebrate local food and talent. This year however, the culinary competition moved online to uphold physical distancing due to the Coronavirus COVID-19.
Due to precautions around Coronavirus (COVID-19), a number of Campus and Community Planning staff continue to work from home and our offices are currently not open to the public.
With filming on campus paused since mid-March due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions, UBC’s Film & Events Office is pleased to welcome back film and television productions to campus this month.
Featuring many unique indoor and outdoor locations, UBC Vancouver is a popular place for shooting movies, television and commercials. Productions have access to diverse locations such as sports fields, historic and modern buildings, as well as large outdoor spaces. Last year, more than 100 productions came to campus, including 20 student and UBC department films.
