Great Trek (formerly known as Fall Classic) is a long-standing running race at UBC. Participants can run 5k, 10k, half marathon or relay. The Great Trek Festival pays tribute to the student pilgrimage (The Great Trek) that came to define UBC.

The start is on East Mall in front of Irving K Barber Learning Centre
The finish is located in University Commons and will include a safety perimeter
Sound system will be used at the start and finish lines
Prepackaged snacks to be served to event participants
Beer sampling scheduled to take place to 19+ - permission to serve alcohol at UBC still pending
Public transit detours during the event until 1pm, see Translink website for more information*
Pedestrian impacts on Main Mall from Crescent Road to Agronomy Road and on Agricultural Road from Main Mall to East Mall

Full Road Closures:
East Mall – University Boulevard to Crescent Road (access to Chan loading bay will be provided)
Crescent Road – East Mall to West Mall
NW Marine Drive – West Mall to 16th Avenue**
University Boulevard – Main Mall to NW Marine Drive
Lower Mall – Memorial Road to University Boulevard
West Mall – University Boulevard to NW Marine Drive
Memorial Road – East Mall to Lower Mall

Lane Closures
SW Marine Drive:
All southbound lanes CLOSED from 16th Avenue to Kullahun Drive. Southbound traffic detoured to 16th Avenue eastbound.
One northbound lane open for northbound traffic.
Old Marine Drive:
Southbound lane closed, no traffic can exit Old Marine Drive onto SW Marine.
Limited northbound traffic will be accommodated through gaps in runners from SW Marine Drive.
*Bus routes will be affected until approximately 1:30 pm. Please check bus routes before heading out.
**Access to UBC Botanical Garden from Stadium Road via gaps in runners.
***Access to/from Hospice via East Mall and Stadium Road.
