The Public Realm Plan Steering Committee (PRPSC) provides oversight and strategic advice to the UBC Board of Governors on public realm projects to ensure the ongoing and successful development of the public realm and that investments in the public realm are fully leveraged for maximum benefit to the University.
The Steering Committee was created to provide ongoing advice on the public realm of campus and provide guidance on public realm projects, including topics such as:
- Prioritization and timing of projects
- Coordination with other campus projects
- Recommendations for funding and budget allocation
- Annual Board of Governors report
Public Realm Plan Coordination Committee
There is also a Public Realm Plan Coordination Committee, which is tasked with providing recommendations to the PRPSC on project budgets, schedules, and potential new projects. The committee members work to ensure coordinated and integrated thinking across UBC departments for the implementation of projects and management of the public realm. This includes consideration of maintenance, community art and programming.
