Thank you to everyone who took part in HUB Cycling’s Go By Bike Week from May 31 to June 6, 2025!

During the week of the event, over 8,500 people across Metro Vancouver participated in the campaign, we logged 27,298 bike rides, cycled 366,670 kilometres, and saved 79,532 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions by choosing to cycle instead of driving, hats off to everyone that!

As always, the UBC community showed its commitment to sustainability and active transportation this Spring.

UBC had 18 enthusiastic teams participate, logging a total of 1,174 trips and cycling 16,865 kilometres, helping to save 3,655 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions!

As part of the celebration, Campus + Community Planning would like to recognize the top performing teams across three major categories: most new riders, longest distance cycled and highest average distance cycled.

We would like to take this opportunity to highlight and celebrate the top teams. A big congratulations to:

School of Bike-o-medical Engineering – Most new riders (15)
SHCS Road Warriors – longest distance cycled (3,377 km)
UBC Thunderbirds – Highest average distance per rider (160.6 km per rider)

We look forward to seeing you back in the saddle this fall when Go By Bike Week returns from September 27 to October 3, 2025!
