Research instrumentation in the neighbouring Earth and Ocean Sciences Building is sensitive to noise and vibrations. Noise exceeding sound limits may damage academic equipment and data collection processes.

Events with power-boosted sound systems are particularly susceptible to exceeding sound limits (60 dB), and will need to exercise controls to the volume of amplification systems in order to meet sound level limits. Megaphones are not permitted on the UBC campus.

There is a strict noise curfew of 10:00 pm at this location.

Standard draw is available, upon request only.

Refer to the annotated site map under Files and Resources below for more information.

To access Fairview Common by vehicle for event setup and take down, a bollard drop is required. There is a fee for this service. Bollard drops must be arranged prior to event setup with the Film and Events Office.

Please be advised that the bollard must never be left unattended when lowered.
