UBC Neighbourhood Planning

UBC’s neighbourhoods are thoughtfully designed, offering a range of housing options and access to greenspace and community amenities. These vibrant areas are walkable, transit-oriented and designed with sustainability in mind.

UBC uses its land to provide homes for faculty, staff, students and more, and to generate revenue to support the academic mission. Over 15,000 residents live across six neighbourhoods on campus – Hampton Place, East Campus, Chancellor Place, Hawthorn Place, University Boulevard, and Wesbrook Place.

Two future neighbourhoods, Acadia and Stadium, remain to be built. The high-level intentions for these new neighbourhoods were determined through the Campus Vision 2050 process. Detailed designs will be developed through public engagement and planning processes.
