In response to concerns from the community regarding potential noise impacts on adjacent residential buildings, the application was withdrawn.
A revised application has been received that locates the court next to the existing volleyball courts, increasing the distance from the nearest residential buildings by an additional 30 m from the original application. The proposal includes planted berms along the east and south sides of the court.
At its meeting on May 17, 2022, the UNA Board voted to cancel the proposed temporary Wesbrook Basketball Court project and directed UBC Properties Trust to withdraw the development permit application for the temporary Wesbrook Basketball Court.
The UNA will continue to work with Metro Vancouver to consider other UNA projects that could be funded with Community Works funding. Any questions regarding this project can be directed to the UNA administration at Support@myuna.ca or 604-827-5158.
