Community Events
UTown@UBC collaborates with departments and units across campus, student organizations, and community members to host events and initiatives that grow community by bringing people together.
From our annual Thrive by the Fire outdoor concert, to Movie on the Mall, to Kids Takeover UBC, there are lots of great opportunities to connect with others, enjoy the campus, and create community.

Placemaking Initiatives
Placemaking is all about creating connections between people and places. UTown@UBC is committed to providing opportunities to transform spaces into places through innovative installations, events, and initiatives in support of UBC's Public Realm Plan.
Take a walk around campus, and you might come across our #UBCBlossoms frames in the spring that inspire you to stop for a picture-perfect moment among the cherry blossoms, or community-created lighting projections shining down in Lee Square, as part of our annual lighting design competition.

Community Programs
UBC Vancouver is home to hundreds of families who live on campus year-round in UNA neighbourhoods, as well as Acadia Park student family housing.
We collaborate with the UNA, faculties, departments, and facilities across campus to create and deliver community programs to bring UBC residents together and provide opportunities to enjoy everything living at UBC has to offer. From the UTown@UBC Youth Leadership club, to our KidsFit collaboration with the School of Kinesiology, to the UTown@UBC Nature Club with Beaty Biodiversity Museum and more, there's always something to do at UBC!
