The Development Review Committee reviews all major and many minor applications for academic and neighbourhood development.
As part of the review process, the committee provides recommendations to the applicant team and identifies conditions for the Development Permit for issuance by the Director of Planning. Depending on the application, the committee may include additional designates or members, but the core committee is represented by:

- Associate Director, Campus Design
- University Architect / Landscape Architect/ Urban Designer
- Associate Director of Municipal Engineering
- Transportation Engineer
- Chief Building Official
- Manager, Green Building
- Architect / Landscape Architect, Building Operations
- Senior Planner, Facilities Planning
- A representative of the Vancouver Fire Rescue Service Fire Protection Office
- Representatives from Risk Management Services
- A representative from Parking and Access Control Services
- A representative from UBC Properties Trust
- A representative from Energy and Water Services
