On June 27, 2011 an open house was held to share information about the first student housing “hub”, which is located in the vicinity of the current Ponderosa Building.
Description
“Hubs” are a key component of the university’s long-term strategy to create additional student housing units on campus. The “hubs” include a mix of uses including independent-style student housing, academic, informal study space, recreation, childcare, food and beverage, and more. Student housing “hubs” are envisioned as vibrant centres that will animate the campus core.
The first “hub” brought 1,100 student housing beds to campus (577 in August 2013 and 523 by August 2015), along with a wide range of other important academic and community facilities.
