UBC has set ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that respond to the university's 2019 Declaration of Climate Emergency, and exceed the UN Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5c. Progress towards achieving these goals has been positive with emissions from operations falling significantly (primarily due to ongoing transition from natural gas to biomass and renewable energy).
Visit the CAP2030 dashboards to learn more about how UBC is doing across the main scope areas: Buildings, Energy, Fleet and Extended Emissions (e.g. business air travel, commuting and waste).
